Asia Cup 2014


Asia Cup 2014 will be the 12th edition of the Asia Cup One Day International cricket Tournament. The event will be held in Bangladesh from 25 February 2014  to 8 March 2014 with Pakistan as the defending champions.The tournament will include the four Asian test-playing nations, BangladeshIndiaPakistan and Sri Lanka; and ICC Associate member Afghanistan. This will be the first 50-over tournament in which Afghanistan has taken part.
Total number of matches are 11.

The squad for India had MS Dhoni as captain but he was plain out due to grievance and was replace with Virat Kohli as captain and Dinesh Karthik as wicket-keeper. Shakib Al Hasan suffers a match ban, therefore he stay out of the first two matches beside India andAfganistan. Tamim Iqbal has been lined out due to injury from the Bangladesh squad.

ISLAMABAD: defensive champions Lahore Lions won the National Twenty20 Cup Cricket competition with a roar thrashing Faisalabad Wolves by a nerve-racking three wickets victory in the final at the Rawalpindi Stadium on Sunday. elect to bat first, Wolves hit (131) runs losing (7) wickets in (20) overs.
Ali Waqas was the make a choice of the batsman score (63) off (52) balls shatter five 4s and four 6s. Wolves captain Misbahul Haq made (27) runs off (33) balls together with two 4s. Khurram Shehzad and Asif Ali scored (11) runs each.
For Lions, captain Muhammad Hafeez, Aizaz Cheema and star pacer Wahab Riaz bagged two wickets each. While batting, Lions accomplish the target on the last ball of the match for the loss of (7) wickets. Lions required (11) runs in the last over, Saad Nasim was their winning hero who played an barely credible finishing thump of (43) runs on (43) balls smash four 4s and a six. The last compulsory single on the final rescue, was taken by Imran Ali. The best batsman of the tournament was Younus Khan with 201 runs.
Best bowler Aizaz Cheema with (11) wickets and best all-rounder was Muhammad Hafeez for his 152 runs and 5 wickets.

The winning team of the event was award with prize money of Rs 2 million while the runners-up got away with Rs 1 million.

Sachin Tendulkar Received His Bharat Ratna Award


The moment lastly inwards. Sachin Tendulkar was confer the Bharat Ratna -thecountry’s highest civilian honour – along with Prof CNR Rao by President Pranab Mukherjee at this time on Tuesday.The cricketing fable, who retire in November last year, was accompany by wife Anjali and daughter Sara.

I be acquainted with my cricket is over but I will continue to bat for India and will give the country a motive to smile,Tendulkar said.Like he had completed in his first post-retirement press discussion, Tendulkar mentioned his mother again, contribute the award to his mother and all mothers of the country.This is the major honour. tremendously delighted at getting this award. I want to say again again that I want to contribute this award to my mother and all other mothers of India, who sacrifice their aspiration so that their children’s dreams come true,” he said.


Tendulkar and Rao joined a list of 41 personality who have been conferred with the Bharat Ratna, which is given in recognition of incomparable service of the highest order since it was institute in 1954.

Tendulkar also congratulate Prof Rao for inspirational the country’s youth to become scientists.I would like to pass on good wishes to Prof CNR Rao for the Bharat Ratna. He has been involved in inspiring and inspirational youth of India to grow to be scientists. I wish him all the cheerfulness and good health.
